Fun with Food!

Food is an interesting subject to photograph. How to tempt with morsels that are taken from everyday life? It is not as easy as it looks. It takes perseverence and a liberal dash of creativity. Humor also helps. See what you think...you might even give it a try yourself!

Fresh olives from a Provencal market...

Our gardens offer us so many textures and colors to explore!

A bit of Americana

Beautiful bounty from the Sea

These crabs offer us a little biology lesson...

Only my Greek friend, Johnny Bakanakis, would have prepared this sumptuous subject for me - to this day it still graces his restaurant's advertising pages

An egg - fragil yet strong, the perfect womb - not to mention the perfect breakfast.

This calls to mind 'interfaces' among other things...oh, the magic of it!

One of life's tougher decisions...

For Sunday Brunch just because...

A hardy liliaceous plant, Allium sativum, whose strong-scented, pungent bulb is used in cookery and medicine the world over.

Even a photographer's lunch does not escape the glare of the lens...

Ain't nature grand?

A perfect end to a perfect day.

P.S. YOU'LL LOVE THIS

A dietitian addressed a large audience in Chicago about dangerous foods.

"The material we put into our stomachs years ago is enough to have killed most of us sitting here," she explained. Red meat is just awful . . . soft drinks erode your stomach's lining . . . and your local Chinese food could be loaded with tons of MSG. Vegetables can be disastrous, too," she added, "and none of us realizes the long-term harm caused by the germs that can be in our drinking water."

"But there is one thing that is the most dangerous of foods, and we have all eaten it or will eat it in our lives," she warned. "Can anyone here tell me what food causes the most grief and suffering for years after eating it?"

A 75-year-old man in the front row slowly raised his hand and said it was probably wedding cake.
