Cades Cove is the single most popular destination for visitors to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, attracting over two million visitors a year because of its well-preserved homesteads, scenic views, biking, and abundant wildlife. Large numbers of white-tailed deer are frequently seen, as well as sightings of black bear, coyote, ground hog, turkey, raccoon, skunk, and other animals. An 11-mile, one-way road circles the cove, offering motorists the opportunity to sightsee from their vehicles at a leisurely pace. Don't forget your camera! |
